You can’t please everyone

Dinnertime

A piece of marriage advice I’ve heard a few times is to “put your marriage first and your kids second.” (The Christian version is “God first, marriage second, kids third.”) While I totally agree with this, the practical outworking of this philosophy results in many tears at times.

Benjamin surprised me the other day by tapping on the bench next to him and saying, “Mama!  Yit! Me! Ummon (Come on), Mama! Yit! Me!” He really copies everything his brothers do!

  1. This used to happen every week at church when the kids were a few years younger. Sometimes I had to go sit between LY and the end of the pew just to stop the fighting.
